The International Climate Protection Initiative (IKI) is an initiative of the Society for International Cooperation and is operated on behalf of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
At the beginning of 2016, we were awarded the contract to provide technical support for the TYPO3-based website and gradually expand it further.
Initially, the IKI team was trained to use TYPO3 editorially and the analysis tool PIWIK for the evaluation of the tracking.
When we took over the maintenance and further development of the site, we saw a number of technical optimisation possibilities that were implemented over the course of the year. From the upgrading of the video extension to an optimization of the search output and various security and performance optimizations.
Finally, the site was extended by an interface that enables data synchronization between the ITFPlus/Sciforma project database and TYPO3. Project data records from the IKI project software can now be published directly on the IKI website via the TYPO3 project extension. Double maintenance of content is avoided.
New: Sketch Submission Online
In 2017/18 we implemented a complex, multi-stage and web-based application process for the IKI - as well as for the European Partner Programme EUKI.
As part of this process, applicants can register online to submit their project outlines, obtain information and start the application process.
Reviewers can log in to the system and view and evaluate existing and assigned proposals.
The administration can enrich the project outlines and reviews with the necessary data. It can also activate applicants, set up accounts for reviewers and add the necessary information, downloads, etc. via a CMS.
Existing applications can be filtered, sorted and evaluated according to specific criteria and exported in Office formats.
At a later date, the application will be extended to include the final application process.
In addition to technical optimization, we host the site on a high-performance managed server and provide technical support:
Monthly checking and updating of the TYPO3 CMS and the extensions used
Short-term security updates
Troubleshooting of the website or individual modules
24/7 monitoring, system-based functional tests, control of backup routines, system logs
Performance measurement and optimization
